Privacy Policy
Last updated: [date it goes live]
Peaceful Dunes ([legal name on the trade licence], trade licence [number], DET holiday home operator licence [number]) manages short-term rental homes in Dubai. This policy explains what personal data we collect from property owners, guests and visitors to our websites, why, who we share it with, and how to ask us to delete it.
We handle personal data under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) and the rules of Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism (DET).
1. Property owners and people who enquire
What we collect: your name, WhatsApp number, email, the building, unit type and status of your property, and what you tell us in our messages. If you sign with us: ownership documents, title deed, ID, bank details for payouts, and the DET permit details for the unit.
Why: to answer your enquiry, prepare a revenue estimate, sign and run a management agreement, register the unit with DET, and pay you.
Ad tracking: if you reach us from an ad, we record which ad and keyword brought you (for example a Google Ads click id). We use this only to see which ads work.
2. Guests
What we collect: your name, phone, email and booking details from the platform you booked on (Airbnb, Booking.com, our own booking site and others); copies of passports or Emirates IDs for every guest staying; arrival and departure times; and the messages you send us.
Why: Dubai law requires every holiday home operator to register each guest with DET before check-in. We read the details from your ID (partly by automated text recognition) and enter them on the DET portal. We also use your contact details to send check-in instructions and help you during your stay, including through a WhatsApp group for your booking.
3. Website visitors
Our websites use Google Ads conversion tracking to count when a visit from an ad leads to a form or a WhatsApp chat. [Add here any other analytics on peacefuldunes.com, such as Wix analytics or the Meta pixel.]
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with the services that help us run the homes, and only what each one needs:
| Who | What for |
|---|---|
| Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) | Legally required guest registration and holiday home permits |
| Airbnb, Booking.com and other booking platforms | Taking and managing bookings |
| Hostaway | Our booking and guest-messaging system |
| Google (Workspace, Drive, Cloud Vision, Ads) | Email, secure document storage, reading text from ID scans, ad measurement |
| WhatsApp (Meta) | Messages with owners and guests |
| Twilio | Phone calls and call alerts |
| Anthropic | AI that helps us draft replies to messages; a person reviews them |
| Hetzner | The servers our systems run on, in Germany |
| Cleaning and maintenance staff | Guest name and dates only, to prepare the home |
Some of these services store data outside the UAE. We use them because they protect data to a standard comparable to UAE law.
5. How long we keep it
- Owner enquiries that do not become a contract: [24 months], then deleted.
- Owner contracts, payouts and statements: for as long as the agreement runs and then [5 years] for accounting and tax.
- Guest ID copies: [as long as DET requires, then deleted; confirm the period].
- Guest booking and message history: [3 years].
6. How we protect it
ID documents are stored in access-restricted storage, not in email or chat. Only the people who need them can open them. Our systems run on servers we control, behind passwords and encrypted connections.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for anything other than what the law requires. Data DET requires us to keep can only be deleted once that period ends. We answer within 30 days.
